Fun Spring/Summer Bag

The overwhelming favorite from the Bloggy Givaway comments is...the Melie Bianco floral pattern in fucshia. What a great bag for spring/summer, it's fun and fabulous. The details are beautiful, and in true Melie Bianco fashion, it's made of high quality faux leather that feels amazing. Melie Bianco bags are carefully styled after popular bags carried by celebrities and made by high end (ie high priced) designers. They have all the style, but not the high prices. Most places retail the Melie Bianco Floral Print Shoulder Bag for around $70, but right now we have it on sale for $62 until this Sunday, April 27th. If you're looking for a fun, colorful bag for Spring, this is definitely it!!!

We're Open!!!!

UPDATED WITH PICTURE

Ok, sorry it took me so long to get a picture of the purse I'm giving away up, it's been a crazy week (aren't they all?). It is an adorable little designer inspired (L.V.) bag, with a trendy lock and green background behind the cutout pattern. Thank you for all of your positive comments and encouragement about our website, it is so nice to read your favorite products and recommendations.

Yay, we're finally open, and what better way to celebrate than to take part in the Bloggy Giveaway Carnival? I discovered this the last time they did it, and I have to say that I probably spent more time reading blogs and entering contests that week than I did with my kids. Basically, for those who don't know, it's a bunch of bloggers who each host a giveaway, and the complete list of participants is available at bloggygiveaways.com. It gave me an amazing array of blogs that I now frequent, and let's face it, it was just plain fun!!!!!! So, I am very excited to take part in the carnival this year, and am giving away (drum roll please.....) a handbag. I know, what a shocker since the whole theme of this blog is our new website http://www.missy-j.com/, where we sell handbags and jewelry. I am so excited to take part, in fact, that I haven't even decided which purse I am giving away yet, but I just had to get in on the fun today. I will post a picture and description of the bag tomorrow, but I promise it will be cute!!

So here's how to enter: Please visit our new webstore at http://www.missy-j.com/ and take a look around. Let us know either what your favorite item is, or a comment on what you think of the site (is there anything confusing, what do you like/dislike about it?, etc) by posting a comment here. I will randomly pick a winning entry number before I go to bed on Sunday, April 27th, so let's put the deadline at midnight on Saturday night. If you post a link to this blog on your site, I will give you a second entry, just make sure you put a separate post for that, otherwise I might get really confused. This contest is open to bloggers and non bloggers alike, just make sure that if you aren't a blogger, you leave an email where I can reach you. Oh, and the contest is open to anyone in the U.S. or Canada. Good luck, and make sure you check out the rest of the giveaways in the carnival, there are some seriously cool blogging chicks out there.

We're almost there!

Missy-j.com is almost ready to open, and I am sooo excited. This has truly been a labor of love getting this website up and running. How did this all get started you ask? Well, let me tell you all about it. My husband Gregg and I had decided that we wanted to do something in the area of Internet sales, and actually started out doing some dropshipping of kitchen items. I wasn't thrilled with the website we were using, and truthfully just wasn't really excited about the whole thing. I just happened to be talking to my best friend, telling her about the business venture when she asked "why aren't you selling purses?". That's when the DUH moment hit!!! Why weren't we selling purses? Now that was something I could get excited about. So began the research that resulted in the products you now see on missy-j.com. I've spent hours on the computer researching handbags and jewelry that is great quality, and that I think are beautifully made, stylish and unique. It's been a lot of fun, and it's not over, because I plan to keep on searching for new and beautiful things. Anyhow, I am excited to bring you stories on the latest fashions, profiles of designers and products, and silly/funny/interesting stories along the way. Anyhow, we just have a few final things to finish up and we should be ready to go in the next few days here. So please, check out www.missy-j.com and let us know what you think.

I think I need to start going to bed earlier.

Did you ever wake up thinking it was the weekend, but as the fog in your brain cleared, you realized that it wasn't? Usually this lasts a couple of seconds as your brain switches from dream to reality, right? Well, last Friday, I almost didn't go to work because (not just for a few seconds) for a good half hour, I thought it was Saturday. My alarm went off and I shut it off thinking, what the heck was I thinking setting my alarm for Saturday morning? It wasn't until I got up to change my son's diaper that it started dawning on me....wait a minute, it's Friday. I raced back to my room because at that point, I had no idea what time it was and whether or not I was already late for work. Luckily, it was just coming up on 6:30 (yes, I set my alarm way early and usually press snooze more than a couple of times before I get up) and I had plenty of time to get myself and the kids dressed and good to go. That would have been really fun trying to explain to my boss that I didn't come to work because I thought it was the weekend.

Does anyone else feel old?

I just watched the video on American Idol of the song "I'm a believer", where they had a bunch of celebrities lip syncing to the song, and I am ashamed to admit that I only knew who about half of them were. And yes (hanging my head in shame), one of the ones I recognized was Dr. Phil. When did I become this uncool? It seems like yesterday that if someone was big in pop culture, I knew who they were. How is it that there were people famous enough to share the stage with THE Dr. Phil that I actually didn't know? Ever feel like you're stuck between feeling young and cool and feeling old and out of touch? Ah, maybe I'm just mad because the cute Australian guy just got kicked off AI.

Missy J

What is Missy J's? Glad you asked. Missy J's is the new business venture by my husband and myself, and is somewhat loosely named after our baby girl. We have been playing around with different ideas for a few months now, and have finally come up with something we can get excited about. Purses and jewelry!!!!! My heart races just thinking about it. Yes, the grand opening of missy-j.com is coming soon, and you will be able to take care of all your handbag and fashion jewelry needs in one fabulous stop on the web. So you're probably thinking that this blog is going to be just one big advertisement for our new website, right? While I do reserve the right to toot my own horn on a regular basis, I promise not to bore you to tears with it. I will not only tell you about the fabulous products we offer on our webstore, I also promise to entertain you with some (hopefully) witty comments and stories, and pearls of my infinite wisdom. So.....sit back, relax, have fun, and buy some handbags. Oops, I mean enjoy.
